Evelyn K. Rayson is the founder and senior counsel of Rayson Legal (formerly Rayson Bond LLP). She attended Osgoode Hall Law School and graduated in 1986. Upon being called to the Bar in 1988 she has practiced primarily in the field of Family Law for over 35 years, and in 2004 was Certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Family Law Specialist. She obtained her post graduate certification in Family and Divorce Mediation, from DePaul University in Chicago and York University. She has been an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School teaching property law.
Evelyn has appeared before various levels of court including in the Ontario Court (General Division), Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Prior to attending law school, Evelyn worked for what was then Revenue Canada – Taxation, now the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) in the area of field audit. She has training in both accounting and income tax.
Evelyn has spoken at the Advocates Society on the matter of Conduct of a Family Law Trial and Civil Litigation Skills. She has served as a Bar Admissions Instructor at the Law Society of Ontario in the matter of Family Law and served as President and Treasurer of the Lawyer’s Club of Toronto. She has numerous cited decisions at various levels of court.
While having appeared at all levels of court, Evelyn is committed to mediation and resolving family discord in a collaborative manner.
